Journalism

Taylor Ann has plenty of experience in journalism. While she began writing articles for class assignments, that quickly changed when she joined The Daily Helmsman. Below is a collection of both published and unpublished works.  Her primary focus is on written reporting, but she also creates audio stories.

After over a month of active fighting in the war between Russia and Ukraine, tensions are still rising with no indications of stopping. Further issues are on the horizon for Ukrainians and the rest of Western Europe.

The Student Government Association named the new leaders for the 2022-2023 school year. After a week of campaigning, Logan Albert, SGA election commissioner, presented the results outside the University Center Friday.

In most cases, striking out is never what a person wants. If someone strikes out when asking another person on a date, that means they said no. In baseball, the saying goes, “Three strikes. You’re out.” But there is one scenario of life where a strike is the best you can get — bowling.

Unpublished     2021

My Cup of Tea is a local nonprofit based in Orange Mound. The company has made a difference not only in the community but in the lives of the women who work there. Cheryl Henderson is the supervisor at My Cup of Tea. She’s been there since 2016.
